A coloured conversion film on aluminium, at room temperature
Before paint or powder, aluminium needs a conversion layer to grip and to resist corrosion. The natural film forming agents from Winsir Decoration Materials Co., Ltd form, at room temperature, a uniform, slightly porous, hard anti-corrosion film on the part in pale-yellow, yellow or iridescent tones, and that film lifts the bond between the metal and the coating laid over it.
Handling and life
The agent is an odourless red-brown liquid, easy to charge and top up, with a simple process and a long bath life that keeps cost per part low. It suits the front end of coating for car, motorcycle, appliance, machinery and sports-equipment aluminium parts.
Dose and dwell
Charged at 50-80 kg per thousand litres and run by immersion at 3-10 minutes depending on the part, the film builds after a full degrease. Steps between tanks are kept short and rinses kept clean so the surface does not re-oxidise before the coating lands.
Keeping the bath true
Bath strength is held by watching colour, pH and the film-coverage check, with make-up added as work consumes it. Operators wear chemical gloves against direct contact, and the natural film forming agents ship in 20 or 25 kg plastic drums, sealed cool and dry.
Cost per part stays low
A long bath life and a simple charge, both from the same drum, keep the per-part chemical cost small on high-volume aluminium work. Winsir supports the pick with the rinse and dwell sequence, so a plant converts to this film without a long trial-and-error stretch on the line. The film is thin enough not to cloud a bright or clear finish, which lets the same line run painted and clear-coated aluminium parts from one pretreatment.
