UV Resistant Epoxy for Wood

Ordinary epoxy turns yellow and brittle after a few months in sunlight. Winsir UV Resistant Epoxy for Wood uses a cycloaliphatic epoxy structure. It naturally contains no bisphenol A and has excellent UV resistance. In our outdoor exposure tests, the color remained almost unchanged after one year. We tested this uv resistant epoxy for wood with a wooden house company in Zhejiang. Their house joints saw no yellowing or cracking after a full summer of sun exposure. This product meets ASTM D-905 and AAMA 2604 standards. It is suitable for outdoor wood structures, wooden decks, and marine woodwork.

Winsir UV Resistant Epoxy for Wood uses a cycloaliphatic epoxy resin with a special anhydride hardener. It contains no bisphenol A structure and has natural UV resistance. The mixing ratio is 2:1 by volume. At 25°C, the mixed viscosity is 3,000 to 5,000 centipoise. Solid content is 100%. Curing shrinkage is below 0.1%. We add nano-scale UV stabilizers including UV absorbers and free radical scavengers. Cure conditions are 24 hours at room temperature or 2 hours at 80°C. The glass transition temperature (Tg) is 70°C. The appearance is colorless and transparent.

Winsir UV Resistant Epoxy for Wood delivers excellent weather resistance. Tested per ASTM G-154 QUV accelerated aging with UVA-340 at 60°C light for 4 hours and 50°C condensation for 4 hours over 1000 hours, the color difference ΔE is below 2.0. Outdoors, it shows no significant yellowing for 1 to 2 years. For bonding strength, tested per ASTM D-905 on North American red oak, the tensile shear strength is 14 to 17 MPa. The wood failure rate is 95% or higher. For damp heat aging, it passes 500 hours at 85°C and 85% relative humidity with strength retention above 80%.
