Finger-Joint Adhesive

Woodworking factories produce many short wood pieces every day. Throwing them away is a waste. Selling them brings little money. Winsir Finger-Joint Adhesive helps you join these short pieces into long engineered boards. The finger joint strength reaches 85% to 100% of the original solid wood. We helped an integrated panel factory in Jiangsu do the math. They used to throw away 200 tons of short materials every year. It is widely used for glulam and door/window materials.

Winsir Finger-Joint Adhesive comes in two types. The two-part type uses a PVAc emulsion with an isocyanate hardener. The mixing ratio is 100:15. The working time is 20 to 30 minutes. It has high initial tack and works well with high-frequency presses. The one-part type is a moisture-curing polyurethane. You use it directly. The working time is 10 to 15 minutes. It is suitable for room-temperature pressing. Both types have 100% solid content. Neither contains formaldehyde. Both meet EPA standards. At 20°C with 1.0 to 1.5 MPa pressure, the pressing time is only 3 to 10 seconds to reach initial strength.

Winsir Finger-Joint Adhesive delivers strong joints. The finger joint strength is tested according to ASTM D-4688 on birch. The ultimate tensile strength reaches 85% to 100% of the solid wood. When the joint breaks, 90% of the failure happens in the wood itself, not at the finger joint interface. For pressing speed, the two-part type at 20°C and 1.2 MPa pressure needs only 3 to 10 seconds. This enables continuous high-speed production. One production line can process 10 tons of short materials per day. For weather resistance, this finger-joint adhesive meets the EN 204 D4 grade. It can be used outdoors and withstands rain exposure.
