Fast Hot Pressing for Bubble-Free Veneer Lamination

Applying veneer to MDF or plywood often causes bubbles and bulges. Winsir Heat Activated Veneer Glue solves this problem. This is a hot-melt adhesive. You apply it to the substrate first. It dries into a non-tacky film. Then you use a hot press or an iron to heat it. The glue film melts at 80 to 120°C. It bonds the veneer instantly. We tested this with a panel factory in Foshan. They used to press veneer with white glue for one hour. They still had bubbles. After they switched to our heat activated veneer glue, they pressed for only 10 seconds. There were no bubbles. Their efficiency increased 30 times. This product meets CARB Phase 2 and EPA standards.

Modified EVA Hot-Melt Emulsion Technology

Winsir Heat Activated Veneer Glue uses a modified ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) hot-melt emulsion. The solid content is 55% ± 2%. At 25°C, the viscosity is 10,000 to 15,000 centipoise. The appearance is a white emulsion. You can apply it by spraying or roller coating. After drying, the glue film is non-tacky. You can stack the boards without them sticking together. This saves space in your workshop. The activation temperature window is 80 to 120°C. You can use a flat hot press, a roller hot press, or an industrial iron to activate this heat activated veneer glue. The melted viscosity is moderate. It wets the veneer surface well for strong bonding.

Performance Data and Production Testing

Winsir Heat Activated Veneer Glue delivers fast hot pressing results. At 100°C, you press for only 10 to 20 seconds. The glue film melts and wets the veneer quickly. Tested according to ASTM D-905 on thin wood veneer, the shear strength reaches 3 to 5 MPa. After lamination, you cannot peel the veneer off. For bubble prevention, during hot pressing, the gas in the glue film can escape. This prevents bubbles from forming. With a coating weight of 40 to 80 grams per square meter, the glue will not bleed through the veneer and stain the surface. This heat activated veneer glue is compatible with multiple heating methods. You can use flat hot pressing, roller hot pressing, or a hand iron.
