The flake structure of MIO creates a "labyrinth effect." This significantly extends the penetration path for corrosive media. It enhances the overall anti-corrosion life of the coating system. Salt spray resistance exceeds 1000 hours per ISO 12944 C5-M environment. This epoxy micaceous iron oxide intermediate coat has better UV resistance than ordinary epoxy paints. It can be exposed outdoors for up to 3 months without a topcoat.

Single coat dry film thickness reaches 80 to 120 µm. This reduces the number of coating passes. Tack-free time is 30 minutes or more at 25°C. Hard drying takes 24 hours or more.
